It would seem that it is possible to buy parking tickets for Reading already. It should be pointed out that this hasn’t been officially announced so it’s unclear if you will be buying last years parking tickets or similar. Either way, if you’ve got the money to spare it may worth buying them know before they sell out.
Buy parking tickets for Reading here: http://www.seetickets.com/mean_multi/price.asp?code=206308
Please note that this is for Reading Festival only, parking at Leeds Festival is free. Also there are no other tickets on sale.

According the NME Bloc party have announced that they will be playing Reading and Leeds, obviously nothing is %100 until it’s on the official site but this looks pretty promising.

A poll of NME Readers has declared Nirvana’s performance at the Reading Festival in 1992 to be their best. This even even topped Nirvana’s “MTV Unplugged” session.
You can read more about this on NME’s site here: http://www.nme.com/news/nirvana/26553
Or you can watch a (low quality) video of the performance on Youtube: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

More opportunities to win some tickets over at Virtual Festivals. It should be pointed out that you only win “oxfam tickets”, which mean you’re part of the volunteering squad. It’s possible to sign up and get free tickets through oxfam anyway, but with this package it’s all sorted out for you and you get a free camera and some money.
Anyway, it’s worth a look. Enter here http://www.virtualfestivals.com/festivals/article.cfm?articleid=3173

Here’s a reminder to everyone that the Leeds and Reading Festivals aren’t lawless and anything *ahem* illegitimate should not be done in open public. This guy apparently had agreed to buy weed from a dealer at Leeds Festival but when it came to it he didn’t have enough money so the dealer demanded he sell ecstasy for him (229 pills) or face a beating.

In total Mean Fiddler are looking for 410 people to work as CAT members at the Leeds and Reading festivals this year. If you’ve been to past festivals then you will have probably met this guys, if not then allow me to explain. A CAT is a member of the “Campsite Assistance Teams”, these people aren’t security what they do is basically wander around the campsite and make sure everything is fine. You have to be 18 and you work three 8 hour shifts across the weekend, you pay for the ticket but if you turn up for all your shifts you get the money back.
Anyway, to conclude, if you want a free ticket for Leeds or Reading and don’t mind potentially missing some bands or working then you should definitely visit (and apply, quickly!) this site: http://www.dcsiteservices.com/cats/
