Welcome to Carlingfesty.com!
CarlingFesty.com is a website dedicated to both the Carling Festivals, Leeds Festival and Reading Festival. Here all the latest
news and
updates will be posted about
Leeds Festival 2008 and
Reading Festival 2008. We first launched in 2005 where we kept everyone updated about Carling Festival 2006 and then 2007, this year we hope to improve the site a lot! We will be keeping you up to date with
news, rumours, tips, tricks and news about the Leeds and Reading festival
lineups as soon as we hear it!
First let’s begin with the official news that tickets will be available on the 31st of March at 7p.m.
Buying tickets for Leeds and Reading festivals is no mean feat, there will be more people wanting tickets than tickets available, this has happened 2 years in a row now with tickets selling out after under an hour for Reading festival and under three hours of Leeds festival.
It is very important that if you want your ticket you prepare yourself, that’s why we at Carlingfesty have prepared this excellent ticket buying guide, available here: Buying 2008 Leeds and Reading Tickets
Secondly I would like to apologise for the lack of updates on this site, due a a series of technical (and social…) issues the effort put in to the site has been lacking. This will change from today, as we get closer to the festival it’s really important to update it and I fully intend to. So fear not, Carlingfesty is back and aiming to be the best for Leeds Festival and Reading Festival news and rumours around.

Just a short post to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and to let you know that this site is still very much alive. Unfortunately there’s really not much going on that’s Leeds and Reading related, we’re always on the look out for rumours but we are yet to see any solid ones.
At the moment we’re working on the site in the background, a system to track rumours is being worked on which should allow you folks to submit your own rumours and others to rate their validity.
I’d also like to say a big hello to all our newsletter subscribers! Thanks a lot guys, we really appreciate your support!

Well, I’ve just upgraded our site to the latest version of Wordpress to stop any nasty people from breaking it.
Why I am telling you this? I know this is a blog about Leeds Festival and Reading Festival and I don’t want to swamp you all with this boring technical stuff, but I’m actually telling you this to test if our newsletter is still working
Sorry guys and I hope our newsletter subscribers got an e-mail about this!
Also, whilst I’m posting, you should check out our links section, we’ve teamed up with some awesome Reading and Leeds sites to share links.
Edit: Aah, it seems the upgrade broke our newsletter. Back to work I go..

I hope this will help everyone out in about 6 months when tickets go on sale again, if you feel we’ve missed anything then please let us know.
PS: Sorry to anyone who just got a newsletter e-mail with a link that didn’t work, I am working on it now!

Well, it’s finally complete! The all new CarlingFesty.com!
This site probably looks completely different to you, those visit leeds-festival-2006.com and reading-festival-2006.com have been forwarded here. If you’re wondering what’s going on, basically we’ve joined the two sites, this means we can work on just the one, halving the work load for us which will double the content for you!
What’s New?
Firstly, we’ve introduced a brand new mailing list / newsletter system, you can join by clicking the “
Join Our Newsletter” link here or at the top of the page. Once you’ve entered and confirmed your e-mail you will be e-mailed each and every time new posts are made here. This means that you don’t have to keep checking here or anywhere else on a regular basis when the Leeds or Reading Festival 2007 lineup is close, because we’ll automatically e-mail you the second we hear of any updates!
The new look forum is also on its way, it should be up any time soon. It has various features that we’ve been wanting for a long time such as polls and private messaging!
Combined site, as mentioned previously, we’ll be talking about both Reading Festival 2007 and Leeds Festival 2007 news, rumours, the lineup and so on. Having the seperate sites didn’t make much sense, as mostly Reading and Leeds news are the same if not similar, and people interested in Reading Festival 2007 news are also interested in Leeds Festival 2007 news and vice versa!
That’s all I can think of right now, thanks for reading!

The Leeds and Reading Festivals are over, and it’s farily save to say that they were enjoyed by all. Personally I visited Leeds and really enjoyed myself, the changes this year really went to help. The new football pitch was good fun for a few days until the surroundings were torn up by around day 2 and their remains scattered around the campsites (the “ROCKS” sign being attached to a pole near to our site). The late night music went down really well and was good fun for those on their second or third wind. The bands were good and the second barrier didn’t negatively affect anything (however, I personally didn’t see much of an improvement). At Leeds Sunday was unusually riot free largely due to the “Love not Riots” campaign and also the late night entertainment. All in all, two fantastic festivals!
Anyway, what’s going on here? Regular visitors may well notice that the site looks very different and appears to be .. one site. Well, in the interest of our own sanity we’ve decided to condense the two “Leeds Festival 2006″ and “Reading Festival 2006″ websites in to one “Carling Festival 2007″ website. This may or may not appeal to you, but I assure you that we will be still reporting both Leeds and Reading specific news as well as news relevant to both the festivals, it will just all be going on the same page. This means a lot to us, because it means we only have to post news once, also we only have to change pages once. Managing a site like this is quite a lot of work, having two of these sites doubles the amount of work that needs to be done, this is why (for those wondering) lately updates have been sparse. We will be updating this site even more and working on it harder than ever, thanks for your continued support! There are some exciting changes coming soon..

Well Hello everyone and sorry about the lack of updates lately, I and most of the people behind this site have been really busy lately. Anyway, it looks like this is going to be the last update before the festival and I would just like to wish everyone a great time. I should point out that the forum is still active and probably the best place to get news and updates: Go To The Forum.
Anwyay, this site will be around for next year but with a major re-design. We’re going to merge the two Reading and Leeds sites and add some more features too. The sites will be kept more up to date than this year and there are basically going to be improvements all round, including a lot more content. I hope you all stick with the site, in the next few years it’s seriously going to improve a lot!

I’m 99% sure Radio 1 have never been at Leeds before, but rumour has it that they’ll be doing a show live from the festival.
Don’t ask me where I got this from but..
Radio 1 wanted to represent this part of the festival fully to its listeners and so across the weekend shows including Jo Whiley will be setting themselves up backstage with a ton of special guests and exclusive live performances from artists appearing at Leeds. The Radio 1 stage will be playing host to the bands that have mattered to Radio 1 listeners over the last year and the station will be recording live music for a Lamacq Live special on the Monday after the festival.
Good Stuff!
