The Leeds and Reading Festivals are over, and it’s farily save to say that they were enjoyed by all. Personally I visited Leeds and really enjoyed myself, the changes this year really went to help. The new football pitch was good fun for a few days until the surroundings were torn up by around day 2 and their remains scattered around the campsites (the “ROCKS” sign being attached to a pole near to our site). The late night music went down really well and was good fun for those on their second or third wind. The bands were good and the second barrier didn’t negatively affect anything (however, I personally didn’t see much of an improvement). At Leeds Sunday was unusually riot free largely due to the “Love not Riots” campaign and also the late night entertainment. All in all, two fantastic festivals!
Anyway, what’s going on here? Regular visitors may well notice that the site looks very different and appears to be .. one site. Well, in the interest of our own sanity we’ve decided to condense the two “Leeds Festival 2006″ and “Reading Festival 2006″ websites in to one “Carling Festival 2007″ website. This may or may not appeal to you, but I assure you that we will be still reporting both Leeds and Reading specific news as well as news relevant to both the festivals, it will just all be going on the same page. This means a lot to us, because it means we only have to post news once, also we only have to change pages once. Managing a site like this is quite a lot of work, having two of these sites doubles the amount of work that needs to be done, this is why (for those wondering) lately updates have been sparse. We will be updating this site even more and working on it harder than ever, thanks for your continued support! There are some exciting changes coming soon..
