Reading reports from people who visited the “NME Forum” where they discussed the Leeds and Reading Festivals and what improvements could be made with Mean Fiddler here is what you can expect to see.
I should point out that this is collected from various sources, it could be false, rumours or (more likely) some points could only apply to Leeds or some points only to Reading. This is all a rumour! Remember that!
- No More “Stuart Securtiy”
The Reading crowd may not have had this but I know the Leeds goers will have. Stuart Security did not do their jobs well, heavy handedness is to be expected but I know I watched huge groups of them baiting the rioters, charging at them and running away.
- Radio One Tent Screens
The Radio One tent is still going to be a tent but there will be screens placed outside!
- Earlier Friday Opening
Those that missed bands because the queue was too long on the Friday morning should be pleased to hear that Mean
Fiddler plan to make absolutely sure that the gates are openeed in time
- More Cash Machines
Yes! No more queueing for ridiculous amounts of time to get some money out, there will be more cash machines this
year!
- More After-Band Entertainment
Rumour has it that there will be more tents like the “Aftershock Tent” all open until 3A.M.
- Exciting Headliner
I don’t know what this means! But people are saying that the guy at the meeting was very excited about one
of the headliners.. only one? :/
- Campfires for Leeds?!
Rumour has it camp fires at Leeds will be permitted, they may be different from what you expect though..
- CCTV
Not sure what people will make of this, but apparently there will be CCTV at the festival this year. Presumabely
this will just mean that security can respond quickly to violence and not other things..
- Seperate Day Ticket Entry
Not much more to say about this
- Gas Cannisters exchanged for Beer?
Apparently! Quite a novel way to stop them getting blown up, I suppose.
- Ticket prices up by £10
I think that’s a lot less than what we all expected. Good stuff!
- Football Pitch?
What!
