Four Hour “Chill Out” Time To Thwart Riots

Leeds Festival organisers have revealed their plans to stop rioting on the Sunday night at Leeds this year. There will be a four hour period (from 11pm to 3am) when potential rioters will be encouraged to participate in activities such as a silent disco, football matches, skateboarding and comedy and film tents.

Also, and this is quite big news for some of us, they have hinted that camp fires will be allowed. This hasn’t been explicitly stated, so for now is just a rumour, but he has been quoted as saying on various news sites:

…he will not discourage camp fires by festival-goers who want to chat into the early hours…

Whether this means fires will only be allowed on the last night, I have no idea, but that’s pretty good news!
